The Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) has launched the Selangor Twin Accelerator Programme, a bold initiative to empower 500 startups and SMEs by 2030.
Partnering with AFFIN, TikTok Shop, and Artem, the programme aims to drive Malaysia’s digital economy through two tracks: Deep-X for deep tech startups and Retail-X for consumer-facing SMEs.
Deep-X: Pioneering Deep Tech Innovation
Deep-X targets early-stage deep tech startups, offering mentorship, funding access, and global exposure.
Top performers will pitch at the Selangor Smart City & Digital Economy Convention (SDEC) 2025 and join an international mission to Plug & Play in Silicon Valley for investor pitches and partnerships. Applications close on July 20, 2025.
Retail-X: Empowering Consumer SMEs
Retail-X supports B2C SMEs in sectors like fashion, food, and wellness, focusing on AI-driven marketing, smart inventory, and omnichannel strategies.
Top SMEs will pitch at a Final Demo Day, with winners receiving RM50,000 in cash and perks, plus a sponsored trip to ByteDance for TikTok Shop insights. Applications close on July 13, 2025.
A Robust Ecosystem
Backed by venture capital firms like Artem Ventures, Gobi Partners, and 500 Global, and tech partners including Google Cloud and Alibaba Cloud, the programme offers resources from ideation to market expansion.
Sidec’s academic partnerships provide research and talent support, while equity crowdfunding platforms like pitchIN and Ata Plus enhance funding opportunities.
A Decade of Impact
Marking its 10th anniversary, Sidec has supported over 320 startups, raising RM20.3 million collectively.
The Twin Accelerator aligns with Selangor’s digital transformation goals, positioning the state as Southeast Asia’s innovation hub.
More details on both programmes can be found on the official Sidec website.
